Our Story
Bowers was built the way most real companies are—through hard work, long days, and a commitment to doing right by the people who trusted us to deliver.
Our roots go back generations, starting with a simple operation focused on hauling and supporting the industries that kept our communities moving. Over time, that foundation grew into something much more—expanding across regions, building long-term relationships, and earning a reputation for reliability that customers could count on.
As the business evolved, so did its reach. What began as a small, family-driven operation developed into a transportation and logistics company capable of supporting freight across the United States, Canada, and beyond. Through every stage of that growth, one thing remained constant: a focus on service, accountability, and getting the job done right.
But like any company operating in a complex and high-risk industry, there came a moment that tested everything we had built.
An extraordinary legal event—one that did not reflect our day-to-day operations, our safety standards, or how we conducted business—created consequences that no company can simply absorb and move past. As outlined in our corporate restructuring, the situation stemmed from a third-party incident outside of our direct operations, yet ultimately resulted in a legal outcome that exceeded traditional insurance limits and forced a critical decision.
At that point, we had a choice: carry forward the weight of the past, or protect the future of the company and the partners who rely on us.
We chose the future.
The original entity was shut down, and ownership absorbed significant losses in order to move forward the right way. This was not a cosmetic change or a simple transition—it was a deliberate restructuring designed to create a stronger, more sustainable business with clear operational boundaries and better protection for everyone involved.
From that decision, Bowers Transportation was formed.
Today’s company reflects everything we’ve learned. It operates with a more disciplined structure, including clear separation between asset operations and brokerage, stronger contractual standards, and risk controls aligned with the realities of today’s freight environment. These changes weren’t made for appearances—they were made to ensure long-term stability, transparency, and accountability in everything we do.
At the same time, we made another strategic move that positioned us for the future.
We entered into a partnership with SPI Logistics, one of the leading transportation networks in North America. Through this relationship, SPI took a minority stake in our brokerage operations, bringing expanded resources, advanced technology, and a broader carrier network to support our growth.
For our customers and partners, this means greater capacity, improved efficiency, stronger coverage, and more competitive solutions—without changing the foundation of who we are. Ownership remains the same. Leadership remains the same. And our commitment to service, integrity, and reliability remains unchanged.
What has changed is our strength.
Today, Bowers Transportation operates with clearer structure, better alignment, and a deeper understanding of what it takes to succeed in this industry. We’ve been tested, we’ve adapted, and we’ve built a company designed not just to operate—but to last.
As we move forward, our focus is simple: to continue serving our customers and partners with the same dedication that built this company, backed by stronger systems, better resources, and a foundation built for the future.
Because at the end of the day, this business has always been about trust.
And now, that trust is backed by experience.
